Spotlight: A Hot AIDS Calendar for 2012

World AIDS Day is this week (December 1st). And now, just in time for the holidays and the new year, there's a hot new calendar that would make a good gift, and the proceeds benefit AIDS research.

The star of this calendar is Jack Mackenroth, a very visible, very out AIDS advocate and educator.

He's a designer and an athlete, and if you don't recognize him yet, he's the HIV-positive contestant from the fourth season of the fashion design reality show Project Runway. Sadly, he had to drop out of the competition due to an infection, and fan favorite Christian Siriano went on to win that season.

Well, Jack recovered from that infection! And he's been busy with his modeling career, working with several great photographers, building up his portfolio, so he decided to share some of the best pics in a 15-month calendar.  “I have amassed such an amazing collection of images that I wanted to put out a calendar that will help to combat the silence and stigma associated with being HIV-positive,” says Mackenroth on his website He adds, “If I can raise money for HIV/AIDS research, it’s even better.”

Take a look... He's spreading the word that people living with HIV can be in great physical shape!

Jack's 8.5 x 11 inch calendar (selling for $14.95 plus tax and shipping) begins in January 2012 and continues through May 2013, so you don't get stuck with months already past, like some calendars. There are 17 images in total, and 100% of the proceeds are going to go directly the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) to help find a cure for AIDS.
